ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its mission is to improve health through genetics and genomics.Job DescriptionThe Education Manager is responsible for supporting and coordinating projects and educational programs, in accordance with the most up to date accreditation guidelines set forth by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Education Manager spearheads aspects of the Education program including developing and implementing educational courses in the learning management system (ACMG Genetics Academy) and supporting committees under the education department: Education Committee, Continuing Certification Program Committee, and Program Committee. This position will be heavily involved in supporting the proposal and abstract submission processes, faculty communications, and meeting deadlines for ACMG's annual meeting. This position will report directly to the Director of Education and will collaborate with the Meetings & Exhibits department, as well as other key departments, ACMG leadership, volunteer members and staff. This position will manage marketing timelines and write promotional copy for announcements and marketing of educational courses. Other key areas of management will be data analytics of the education program. The Education Manager will need to run effective and compelling webinars and online meetings for large audiences. This position will also support other educational and programmatic needs of ACMG, working closely with faculty and volunteers.In this role, you will:Be responsible for the planning and support of education programs based on adult learning principles (including CME and non-CME activities). Assist the department in the development, implementation, and facilitation of educational initiatives, including, live, virtual, and enduring activities. Develop, track, and maintain CME activity documentation, evaluation data, and credit verification to ensure full compliance with ACCME Criteria and Policies. Collect, identify, mitigate, and disclose relevant financial relationships by implementing and documenting the disclosure management process. Maintain timely, accurate records within ACCME PARS system and assist with preparation of annual accreditation reportsManage and provide administrative support for webinars and other professional education activities, including faculty invitations, collection of financial disclosures, resolution, and mitigation of conflicts of interest, presentation review, and honoraria and expense reimbursements. Recommend goals, educational content, delivery channels and objectives for scientific education programs based on documented needs assessments, including subject matter expert (SME) recommendations, gap analysis, industry trends, and ACMG staff and member input. Work with SMEs on content selection and timelines and design program deliverables that are based on adult learning theory, agile, and can be modified at each major milestone, if required, in order to meet CME requirements, delivery timelines, or other commitments. Assist in the development and implementation of a methodologically sound strategy for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data for quality improvement and evaluation for all educational activities. Utilize data and member and participant feedback to recommend solutions that will improve learner experience. Serve as the staff liaison for the Education and CME Committee, actively supporting the work and programs of the committees and subcommittees (Genetics Academy, Webinars)Provide administrative support and assist in development of processes and procedures for writing, administering, and reconciling medical education grants in compliance with ACCME requirements. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesEducational Program Annual MeetingWorks as primary staff liaison with the Program Committee, member volunteers, to develop, vet, manage, execute, and evaluate the educational content of the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. Coordinates day-to-day activities related to development, vetting, execution, and evaluation of scientific content for ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. Manages and implements the Call for Proposals and Call for Abstracts process, review, and notifications. Facilitates moderator and speaker invitations. Manages scientific content in speaker management database as well as verification of membership in AMS. Facilitates moderator and speaker invitations. Communicates directly with meeting moderators and speakers with regards to their roles and responsibilities. Provides logistics support including facilitating staff assignments and providing appropriate orientation, reviewing speaker benefits, following-up on speaker logistics. Manages scientific content in speaker management database as well as verification of membership in AMS. Responds to inquiries about programmatic content issues for ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. Schedules meetings, conference calls, and other events related to planning the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting content as well as workshops, poster walks, and education committee special sessions. Communicates and tracks speaker acceptance and submission of appropriate information, including talk and session description, financial disclosure, and participation agreements. Reviews promotional materials for the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. Maintains the annual meeting content management system (CMS). Develops and executes peer-review process and other evaluations of accredited sessions. Educational Program Content ManagementCollaborates with staff, faculty, and volunteer leadership to develop and improve educational program content. Works with the Director of Education to ensure that the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and American Medical Association (AMA) guidelines and policies regarding physician education are strictly held in compliance. Stays abreast of current research in the field of Education, along with the latest in adult education methodologies. Works collaboratively with the Director of Education and related committees to identify educational needs and develop educational program strategies and implementation plans. Works to ensure that educational activities comply with ACMG policies, ACCME guidelines, and other regulatory agency policies, procedures, and practices. Works collaboratively with the Director of Education, other staff, and volunteers to develop and implement bench marking methodologies. Provides analysis and develops strategies based on this data. Collaborates with other departments to revise and improve program content to include the latest research, ideas, delivery modalities, trends, and techniques. Works closely with the director to develop and deploy effective learning strategies, techniques, and methodologies to ensure knowledge transfer. Researches and writes copy to assist volunteers and staff in the development of reports, publications, brochures, and tools for genetic professionals, healthcare professionals, students and trainees, and stakeholders. Additional ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with the director and other staff to implement work plans to carry out the educational program strategyCoordinates program implementation activities with other departments (Meetings & Exhibits, Public Relations, ACMG Projects, others) to ensure the successful development and delivery of educational events and programs. Informs staff of ACMG activities to ensure that membership is aware of these activities. Embraces collaborative relationships with other organizations to assist in the development of joint educational opportunities of benefit to ACMG, its members, and the members of related professionsEmbrace and engages in the team concept, discussing team goals, problem-solving, and maximizing team participation and communication in an effort to enhance programs and successfully reach team goals. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Education, or other related field in Healthcare Administration required, Master's Degree is a plus. Minimum of 4+ years of work experience in CME programming and administration for an ACCME- accredited providerKnowledge of the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education and AMA Physician Recognition Award (PRA) requirementsCertified Healthcare CPD professional (CHCP), preferred. Proficiency in standard computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, virtual meeting platforms) with demonstrated aptitude for quickly and efficiently learning and embracing new softwareAdvanced Excel experience with the ability to measure outcomes and conduct statistical analysis. Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet multiple competing deadlines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing, organization, time management, and project management with strong attention to detailAbility to travel domestically and internationally, as neededStrong technical skills with proven aptitude for learning, configuring, and integrating new technologies into workflowMulticultural sensitivity and proven ability to collaborate effectively with all constituenciesMust have a team-based approach to planning, display resourcefulness, ability to work collaboratively across the department to achieve desired results. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with contacts inside and outside the association, particularly with volunteers and physicians -listens effectively and clarifies as needed. Additional InformationPhysical RequirementsThis is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
