Unified Communications EngineerGeorge Mason University's Information Technology Services (ITS), located on the Fairfax, Va., campus, invites applications for a Unified Communications Engineer within the Enterprise Collaboration Office (EC). George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:The Enterprise Collaboration (EC) Unified Communications Engineer's primary responsibility is for the implementation, maintenance, training, and administrative duties of Enterprise Collaboration tools and technology inclusive of Unified Communications (UCaaS and CCaaS), telephony, O365 integration, and hardware or software conferencing. This position provides technical support, administration, troubleshooting, system security, migration/integration, research and analysis, and technical consultation.Required Qualifications:Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute;Demonstrated technical skills to support an enterprise-wide UCaaS and CCaaS, softphone telephony, and video conferencing technologies such as MS Teams and Zoom;Demonstrated expert-level problem solving skills. This includes the ability to troubleshoot collaboration/telephony tools, and ability to work with vendors and other IT teams towards resolution;Strong customer service skills include dealing with client issues, tracking/resolving incidents, and fulfilling services requests;Strong organization and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and independently;Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, including both written and verbal communication;Ability to create documentation, conduct knowledge transfer and training for both internal teams and customers on supported tools;Demonstrated experience working with Unified Communications and Contact Center systems, along with directly supporting clients (2 or more years preferred); andDemonstrated experience supporting video conferencing and other collaboration tools.Preferred Qualifications:Strong understanding of O365 especially as it pertains to MS Teams calling and integrations;General knowledge of networking protocols and system security;Collaboration technology certifications;Experience supporting IT/users in an academic environment;Experience supporting softphone telephony via cloud or hybrid solutions;Experience working with APIs and Power BI; andExperience with end-user licensing for troubleshooting and request fulfillment.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
