The College of Education and Human Development (cehd.gmu.edu) is a dynamic academic unit with a wide range of collaborative field-based programs, consequential research initiatives, and outreach partnerships with schools, businesses, and community agencies. Term faculty are responsible for covering a broad range of substantive and clinical courses (base 4-4 teaching load) while also engaging in service within and beyond the Counseling program. Tenure-line faculty are expected to lead a consequential program of research and external funding in addition to their teaching and service assignments (base 2-2 teaching load).Required Qualifications:All applicants must have an earned doctorate, experience teaching and mentoring graduate students, and a demonstrated commitment to multicultural counseling, advocacy, and leadership. Candidates for a tenured position must also have a productive portfolio of research, including externally funded research, or demonstrate clear potential for such productivity.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates who clearly manifest the College's core values (collaboration, ethical leadership, innovation, research-based practice, and social justice) and a professional commitment to multiculturalism, advocacy, and leadership in their teaching, research, and service activities. In addition, preference will be given to candidates who have a graduate degree from a CACREP-accredited academic program, experience with CACREP policies and processes, and significant applied experiences in the field of counseling.
