Adventist HealthCare Behavioral Health and Wellness seeks to hire a Psychiatric Tech who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Psychiatric Technician you will:
• Rounds on patients, at minimum, every 15 minutes as assigned on assignment sheet and documents according to policy
• Demonstrates appropriate de-escalation techniques per training
• Obtains and documents patient vital signs and reports abnormal results to RN
• Assists in organizing therapeutic and recreational activities for patients
• Assists in admission and discharge process of patients as assigned
• Assists patients with non-medical care needs as assigned, such as grooming, shaving, bed making, tidiness of patient room.
• Escorts patients off unit to emergency department, cafeteria, gymnasium, courtyard/outside activities, or off campus appointments as needed/ordered.
• Assists with visitation per policy and as assigned

Qualified candidates will possess:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associates or Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• 1-year experience working in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health environment; 2 years' experience in the above for PRN / Per Diem
• Psychiatric Technician certification preferred
• Crisis Prevention Institute Certification preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certification strongly preferred to work on Magnolia unit
• One year of current experience in a hospital environment with strong computer skills

Work Schedule:

Night Shift: 6:45pm - 7:15am

Must work three 12 hour shifts weekly. Must work every other weekend.
