Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner for our Cardiac Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Nurse Practitioner will:
•Provide high quality, evidence-based care to in-patient and outpatient cardiac
and thoracic surgery patients
•Assist cardiologists and surgeons in patient management from pre-
hospitalization to discharge.
•Support and lead all cardiovascular resources within the hospital.
•Perform initial patient screenings and develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases
•Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits
•Assist medical providers in development, implementation and periodic review of health care policies, protocols, and procedures
•Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination
•Ensure the confidentiality of all patients', company and other relevant information under HIPPA guidelines.
•Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury.
•Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients

Qualified candidates will possess:
• Master of Science Degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required.
• Current Maryland License
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum of one year's experience as a Nurse Practitioner
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications, Internet and email

Work Schedule:

Shifts include three weekday day shifts and one Saturday shift per month with the opportunity to pick up more shifts as needed.
