Our goal is to improve the treatment for patients with chronic brain disease through long-term convection enhanced delivery directly to the brain, bypassing the blood-brain barrier. CraniUS is starting by targeting glioblastoma multiforme, one of the deadliest forms of brain cancer, by surgically placing implantable devices that store and deliver chemotherapy to the brain.Job Description:The Senior Hardware Engineer will lead and contribute to multiple concurrent projects for the design, testing, and compliance strategy of the hardware components of the first-in-human (FIH) CraniUS device.Projects and responsibilities will include:A cents € cents Establishing specifications, designing circuit schematics, and creating PCB layouts in Altium.A cents € cents Participating in design reviewsA cents € cents Component management and part sourcingA cents € cents Ensuring RoHS and UL compliance of components and suppliersA cents € cents Bringing electrical components and designs into IPC class 3 complianceA cents € cents Incoming inspection and functional testing of hardware componentsA cents € cents Design and construction of test fixtures and equipment A cents € cents Maintaining manufacturing and testing equipmentA cents € cents Performance of V&V tests on hardware componentsA cents € cents Prepping test articles for external FCC compliance and V&V testingA cents € cents Utilizing existing or establishing new CraniUS strategic partners in manufacturing or other relevant fields to progress from benchtop prototyping to small-scale production.A cents € cents Documenting all engineering progress, testing design, and results for quality management.A cents € cents Reporting engineering updates and other progress to upper management monthly and other engineers on a weekly basis.A cents € cents Working collaboratively with the full team at CraniUS to develop a FIH implant device.Skills and Requirements:A cents € cents Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.A cents € cents Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.A cents € cents Altium or other equivalent ECAD software experience.A cents € cents Experience with Quality Management Systems and familiarity with FDA and ISO regulations.A cents € cents Ability to be agile in a rapidly evolving engineering workplace.A cents € cents Strong technical writing and documentation skills.A cents € cents Ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions both independently and collaboratively.A cents € cents Candidates must be able to work in-person at the CraniUS office.Contacts:Owen Friesen, Director of Hardware Engineeringofriesen@Deborah Weidman, Co-Founder & CTOdweidman@
