Our advanced technology tackles even the toughest challenges and stays ahead of the latest threats.Our VMWare+Carbon Black macOS team is looking for Software Engineers with experience in macOS development, computer security, and development of enterprise-grade endpoint software systems. Ideal candidates have experience developing code against posix on unix platforms writing code in C/C++ for endpoints as well as a passion to create a world class security product.If you love computer security and digging into complex engineering challenges, then we want you on our team!Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Day 1 - Meet your peers.Week 1 - Learn how you can contribute to the health and growth of our engineering team.Month 1 - Gain solid understanding about our Carbon Black Cloud macOS product and the technologies used to develop it. Quarter 1 - you will have made amazing improvements to your engineering skills! You will build and modernize the Carbon Black Cloud macOS product on apple platform using modern engineering best practices. You will feel comfortable helping less experienced engineers build great software. Year 1 - you will feel comfortable leading the efforts of an engineering team! You will deliver fantastic software and make a lasting impact on the product.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a thought leader, you will help drive the technical direction.You will take part in ownership of product quality, user experience, and security - every member of the team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class product that users love.Design, build, and test product features and componentsYou are expected to help maintain and improve our automated test suite and CI pipeline.You will participate in code reviews and design reviews for building a robust and scalable product that does not require rework.Play an active role in debugging and addressing critical product issues. Our product is critical to our customers, and every developer will cooperate with our support team to make sure our customer needs are met.In this role, you will be involved in coordinating work across teams and architects. You will establish networks outside own area of expertise.You may be involved in actively mentoring junior team members and play an active role in addressing or helping the team with critical issues/escalation. You will be working with highly skilled senior engineers and architects who will always be there for guiding or mentoring whenever required.You will proactively work on identifying issues and exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Perform analysis of complex tasks or situations that required in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Leaders in this space are expected to interact with others outside the organization to keep abreast of changes. This would include attending conferences such as WWDC, or developer conferences.Personal growth is important to our team.
