Help be a voice for the brave women and men of Iran.The National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI), a non-profit, non-partisan organization of Iranian-Americans seeks an energetic and astute Content Coordinator to play a crucial role in supporting the organization's relationships with a broad range of audiences - with a focus on coordinating, writing, and editing compelling copy, managing digital and social media content, and facilitating press visibility. This role will report directly to the leadership team and support its work of translating and amplifying the work of the organization with the overall goal of raising its profile nationally and advancing its mission.Position DescriptionAs a Content Coordinator you will:Write dynamic, concise content including website copy, weekly newsletter, social media content, opinion pieces, organizational news announcements, and related email campaigns.Manage the organization's social media strategy and social accounts including Twitter and Facebook, generating original daily content that deepens engagement with key audiences. Monitor, analyze, and report weekly social media analytics to organization leadership.Manage team editorial calendar, ensuring consistent content distribution and promotion.Work with the leadership team to build a unique messaging framework and ensure consistent application of language for marketing materials and other stakeholder outreach.Quickly field inbound inquiries from journalists and connect them with appropriate NUFDI escalating requests to the leadership team as needed.A' Draft press releases and pitches, build and maintain the organization's press list and an internal expert directory for topical press requests, and track news coverage and press mentions for social media amplification and impact reporting.Work with NUFDI policy and event teams and experts to assess copy and asset needs for digital content around events, announcements, and launches. Build pipeline and related approval flows in internal project management software to deliver copy and assets, consult with projects and NUFDI partners about the potential for amplifying their work by identifying newsworthy content, ensuring representation on NUFDI social channels to promote initiatives.Provide support with website content management and maintenance.Lead asset and copy collection for institutional writing projects such as annual reports and funders' updates.Work with NUFDI's policy and advocacy teams and experts to copy edit and proofread research, op-eds, and other writings to ensure accuracy and tone; ensuring images are the correct size and quality; and upholding communications and web standards.A' Basic QualificationsTwo-three years of related professional experience in the communications field and/or in journalism and/or communications writing in a variety of formats for a variety of audiences.A' We Are Looking For People Who HavePrevious experience (including internships) on Capitol Hill or with DC advocacy organizations are a plusExperience managing and producing compelling written and visual content for digital platforms that corresponds in creative and timely ways to the news cyclePortfolio of concise copy that translates complex ideas for general audiences, especially at the intersection of advocacy, storytelling, policy, or scholarshipEditorial planning, project management, and virtual interpersonal communication skills; experience with project management and workflow softwares preferredFluency with digital analytics and experience with managing content on a CMS (Mailchimp)Ability to independently problem-solve and set deadlines with a large group of scholars, researchers, teachers, and activists in customized ways that grow their storytelling impactAbility to demonstrate sound judgment, ethical standards, discretion, and tact in independent and team environments, both online and offlineAn understanding of international relations, the Middle East (in particular Iran) is a plusPersian (Farsi) language skills, though not required, are a plus?Additional InformationThis is a full-time position based at NUFDI's office in Washington, DC.
