AWS Software Engineer
A$ A' "A' ?You As the AWS Software Engineer you will support mission of a progressive Federal agency. You will architect and develop security, monitoring, and auditing Cloud Services in AWS and collaborate with other agency development teams. Program Mission This program will support our US Customs and Immigration Services Cyber Security Defense Services Contract that provides support to Security Engineering Branch of Information Security Division (ISD) of USCIS. We protect USCIS' IT infrastructure and resources, information systems, and the information that is used in these environments from cybersecurity threats. Requirements Strong programming experience, Python preferred.Experience in cloud application development (eg PaaS, Serverless, API Management);Experience using integrated development environments targeting Linux, Windows, public clouds (ie Azure, AWS)Software development practices like DevOps , DevSecOPs and CI/CD tool chains (ie Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, GitHub).Experience with scalable architectures using Azure App Service, API management, serverless technologies, container orchestration (eg Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc.), API management, microservice frameworks etc.Experience with AWS technologies, and migrations from on-prem to AWS AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experienceExperience with AWS Security services and focus on IAM policy and IAM permission least privilege.Container orchestration (eg Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry);Continuous integration technologies (eg Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure for DevOps, Chef, Puppet);Web application server technologies, cloud application design, software architecture and practices; (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM)Desired Skills:Experience supporting DHS Agencies.Providing IT security engineering for systems deployed in Azure and GCP in addition to AWS is a plus.Ability to demonstrate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Able to clearly communicate with both customers and teammates and provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications Experience working in an agile development environment Years of Experience: 7 years of experience in engineering, developing and deploying IT systems. At least 3 years of experience as a Senior Engineer deploying, operating, or providing IT security engineering for systems deployed in AWS.At least 2 years experience using Python, Ruby, or Java to automate operations or security functions using the AWS SDK and AWS LambdaAt least 2 years' experience using Chef, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or other tools to automate infrastructure deployments in AWSEducation:Master's degree in a technical discipline desired. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field is requiredCertifications: Active AWS Solutions Architect (required)AWS Security Specialty certification (additional certifications can count toward 7 years experience requirement)Location: This position may be staffed at the Government's facility in Williston, VT or in the Washington, DC area, or other locations in the United States with approval by the Government.Clearance: ?Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Government Agency clearance. DHS EOD is a major plus.
