Primarily responsible for the technical development and implementation of a product while ensuring it conforms to all technical requirements. Also responsible for implementing rigorous, repeatable System Engineering processes, ensures technical integration, monitors, and evaluates technical risks, and provides technical oversight and support.The Engineer, Systems - Mechanical HVAC (ES - MHVAC) will be responsible for developing and managing the following elements of a nuclear project:A cents € cents Technical Planning,A cents € cents Concept of Operations Development,A cents € cents Requirements Management, Flow-down, and Verification & Validation Planning,A cents € cents Configuration Management (hardware and software),A cents € cents Technical Data Management, andA cents € cents Interface Management.The ES - MHVAC is responsible for meeting program technical objectives and technical requirements, including:A cents € cents Performs functional analysis and documents the functional allocation to systems and subsystems.A cents € cents Assesses and documents design requirements, including the development of technical specifications. Enters and organizes requirements via requirements management tools/software.A cents € cents Oversees and produces documentation to capture the flow-down of high-level requirements to lower levels of assembly.A cents € cents Defines the contents, format, and approach to develop System, Subsystem, and Component System Design Description documentation.A cents € cents Works with product development leads and subcontractors to define system and subsystem functional and physical architecture definitions.A cents € cents Ensures that interfaces between Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs) and with the customer environment are understood, captured, and documented via Interface Control Drawings and Documents.A cents € cents Oversees the requirements verification and validation process.A cents € cents Single point contact for the system design and responsible for ensuring requirements are met.A cents € cents Defines and ensures the approach and content of contract end item verification documents.A cents € cents Actively supports the safety culture and ensure integration of quality in all SE processes by complying with the relevant requirements of the Quality Assurance Program.Minimum Education and ExperienceA cents € cents BS in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.A cents € cents 5+ years of HVAC Systems Engineering.A cents € cents 5 years' experience in successful major nuclear system development projects. 10 or more years of experience would be a plus.A cents € cents 3 years' experience and/or exposure to operational nuclear plant systems (commercial, National Laboratories, or Government) is preferred. 5 years' experience is highly desirable.Location: Rockville, MDStatus: Full-time, ExemptWe are looking to fill this position immediately.
