Senior Systems Engineer
A$ A' "A' ?Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical guidance and demonstrate leadership to engineering teams. Primarily serve in Tier 3 engineering support role for the enterprise data network platforms performing various activities such as but not limited to troubleshooting, performance issues and performing break-fix network changes. You will have minimum five years' experience in a classified environment and a strong knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change Management processes. You will drive technical resolution of High-Severity & Low Severity Incidents and will provide direct support of Problem Management process, including Post-Mortem participation and presentations. Also help govern device remediation and Operational Resiliency activities. Complete assigned tasks independently, or as part of a larger project team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:A' . Creation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual servers (Windows and/or Linux) and supporting applications hosted in GovCloud (Azure)A' . Administration of the configuration of software services across all environmentsA' . Installation, testing, and release of patches and/or upgrades to servers and applicationsA' . Root-cause analysis of technology bugs, breaks, and failuresA' . Configuration management of server on Ansible with version control on GitA' . Coordination and integration of Operations and Platform engineering activities with development teamsA' . Provision of appropriate technical support to all teams working on various platformsA' . Installation and maintenance of new pipeline applicationsA' . Configure network infrastructure device operating systems, determine hardware specifications, and validate system performance.A' . Execute performance tuning, operational process development, and security configuration management in accordance with best practices, standards, and procedures.A' . Support analysis, triage and break/fix of infrastructure system-related trouble tickets.Coordinate with Tier IV vendors to troubleshoot, maintain, and implement hardware and softwareAnalyze and help improve system performanceDocument and transfer knowledge to fellow staff through trainingConduct systems inventory and updates asset management documentationDocument and update systems architecture drawings and server rack elevations using Microsoft VisioHelp develop strategies and plans Required Skills 7+ years relevant experience in IT Operations environment3+ years of experience building and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL) and/or Windows servers (Server 2016, 2019)1+ years of VMware ESXi/vSphere/ vCenter experience. An in-depth knowledge of RHEL and/or Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Environments (RHEL 8, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019).Thorough understanding of the desktop and server image build process. Experience with Azure-hosted Windows and/or Linux operating systems and concepts.Experience with Compliance Management on Azure through Group Policy, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Exchange.Working knowledge of system hardening (STIGs, SRGs, regulatory compliance)Advanced understanding of IP networking, Switches, Routers, and Firewalls.Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.Experience with Security Compliance and Nessus Security Center scan reports. Experience with Monthly patching cycles.
