A$ A' "A' ?Job Summary:The Senior Test Engineer (STE) will play a key role in the design, development and maintenance of software test plans, test procedures, and test automation tools used in the validation of the software in our electronic control systems deployed in the rail industry. The STE will be required to contribute to designing and developing high quality software test processes for a fast-paced environment, as well as support and enhance the entire software development life cycle.The position requires a highly motivated engineer with the ability to participate collaboratively within a project team as well as develop technical solutions independently, execute test procedures and deliver comprehensive reports.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Wabtec Core Electronics Test Engineering management analyze complex requirements and implement appropriate test strategies and test cases for various projects implementing application software for various Wabtec electronic equipment/ systems.Estimate test coverage needs for various phases (First Pass, Regression, etc.).Develop and execute manual & automated test scriptsDevelop test plans.Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs and content.Manage the test environment.Collaborate with developers, system engineers and test engineers in troubleshooting efforts.Assist in the development and implementation of quality control policies and procedures.Conduct peer reviews on system requirements, test procedures, artifacts and records.Facilitate test plan review meetings with software engineers and other stakeholders on the project.Communicate project status to project team and management.Work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering from a recognized educational institute or equivalent experience.4+ years of software and/ or electronic system testing experience or 7+ year of engineering experience.Knowledge of the software development life cycle.Experience with Requirements Management software such as DOORS or Rational Requisite Pro, IBM CLM, etc.Experience with developing scripts and/ or programs for automation tasks (Perl, Python, MATLAB, LabView, VBScript, JavaScript, Shell Scripting, etc ).High degree of attention to detail.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical or electronics engineering from a recognized educational institute or equivalent experience.4+ years of experience in software or electronic equipment testingStrong analytical and problem resolution skills.Able to work within minimal direction/ supervision.Effective oral communication skills. Ability to articulate clearly and concisely.Self-motivated, quick learner, and results-oriented with a clear focus on quality.Fluent written and spoken English. Added advantage skills:Understanding of agile development methodologies such as Scrum.
