A$ A' "A' ?Junior Project EngineerJob DescriptionAerolab is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a junior project engineer position. The position is full-time. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Junior Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.The candidate must be capable of working with multiple discipline projects and must demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. The candidate should also have excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with general contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, fabricators, and owners throughout projects where Aerolab may either serve as a prime contractor, sub-contractor, or independent supplier to an owner. Primary responsibilities will include management of schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, inventory, equipment, and materials.The ideal applicant will be highly organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask in order to meet deadlines and keep projects under budget.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe candidate is expected to perform the following routine functions:A cents € cents Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.A cents € cents Formulating project parameters and coordinating and monitoring the project team.A cents € cents Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field.A cents € cents Oversee construction related activities of Aerolab projectsA cents € cents Manage construction related budgets and estimate costsA cents € cents Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.A cents € cents Cooperating and communicating with management and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.A cents € cents Collaborate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project teamA cents € cents Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.A cents € cents Collaborate and communicate with project or building ownership when neededA cents € cents Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularlyA cents € cents Participate in and lead meetings for regular progress updates, OAC and pull sessionsA cents € cents Negotiate with external vendors and subcontractors on contract agreementsA cents € cents Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment.A cents € cents Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics.A cents € cents Establish field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.A cents € cents Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower neededA cents € cents Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to scheduleA cents € cents Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standardsA cents € cents Ensure project compliance with the applicable codes, safety regulations, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.A cents € cents Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standardsA cents € cents Function as part of a Product Design Team following the guidance provided by design and project engineers.Required SkillsA cents € cents Proper interpretation of design specifications, drawings, and schematicsA cents € cents Familiarity with engineering and construction terminologyA cents € cents Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projectsA cents € cents Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipmentA cents € cents Proficient in use of Microsoft ProjectA cents € cents Experience with ProcoreA' A cents € cents Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Word Processing softwareA cents € cents Experience with typical CAD packages including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks is preferredA cents € cents Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabricationA cents € cents Good time management skills, high work ethicsA cents € cents Able to multitask and plan aheadA cents € cents Excellent time management skillsA cents € cents Positive contributor to team participationA cents € cents Focused, methodical with good analytical skillsA cents € cents Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memosA cents € cents Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teamsEducation and ExperienceA cents € cents 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar roleA cents € cents BS/BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction management or other associated fieldA cents € cents Experience with large-scale construction projects is preferredA cents € cents Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferredLocation and TravelA cents € cents The position is based at Aerolab's main facility in Jessup MDA cents € cents Frequent multi-day offsite travel to customer sites will be required
