Gifts Processing AssistantThe George Mason University Advancement and Alumni Relations department is seeking qualified applicants for a Gifts Processing Assistant opportunity.This position is focused on supporting the Coordinator of Strategic Advancement Systems in coordinating projects and managing digital engagement systems. The position works closely with internal stakeholders to maximize the use of the digital engagement system and its related functions.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Enter and reconcile batches that are more standard in nature and don't require significant institutional knowledge;Prep incoming checks, credit card gifts, to speed up the deposit and batch creation process and handle data update requests that accompany those gifts;Prep web batches by doing ID searches, adding new donors to the database, and loading gifts into the web gift application;Relieve, or at least assist full time gift processors with their data assignments;Run and mail receipt letter batches; andAssist with data cleanup from returned mail during our holiday mailings.Required Qualifications:Understanding of database operations;Advanced PC skills including data entry, word processing, on-line research, and email;Ability to quickly learn and understand new software programs and their applications;Advanced research, analytical and decision-making skills and problem solving and experience;Ability to recognize problems and offer solutions;Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexible and detail oriented;Ability to maintain confidentiality; andSkill in the use of effective, respectful, and professional communication when working with internal and external constituents.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Advance Database; andExperience in higher education fundraising operations.
