Administrative AssistantThe George Mason University Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Point of View International Retreat and Research Center (POV), has openings for two part-time Administrative Assistant positions. The Administrative Assistant performs tasks in accordance with established procedures and timeframes with high attention to detail, a high level of professionalism and customer service, strong communication skills, and commitment to excellence. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Point of View:As part of George Mason University's Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, the Point of View sits on 120 acres of pristine wooded land and wetlands overlooking Belmont Bay in Lorton, VA, in close proximity to the nation's capital. Its breathtaking views-coupled with state-of-the-art facilities-provides a truly unique and ideal setting for a range of events, including group meetings and conferences, retreats and trainings, local and international dialogues, as well as special events and celebrations. In addition, Point of View provides expert facilitation support and conflict resolution training to groups and communities.Responsibilities:Event coordination for client and in-house events;First point of contact for visitors and vendors visiting the site;Gives facility tours to potential clients;Receives and replies to email inquiries;Key holder for opening and closing the facility;Checks and distributes mail;Assists with room set up;Monitoring grounds and facility;Assists with keeping the facility clean and in order; andWorks closely with the Facility Manager/Director.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent;Demonstrated administrative assistant experience (generally 3+ years);Superior communication skills, both spoken and written;Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and accuracy driven;Excellent time management and problem-solving skills;Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, follow directions, and take initiative;Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds;Ability to perform duties with a high level of professionalism, flexibility, integrity, diplomacy, and tact;Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe, along with a willingness to learn new programs to support POV as needed; andAbility to troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide event technical support.Point of View is not accessible by public transportation.
