Who we're looking for:

Capital One Ventures is seeking a portfolio operations manager to oversee the operational and governance aspects of the group. This person has experience working in investment management space or project management. The role is part of the platforms, operations and strategy team, supporting accelerated enterprise value growth through the Capital One Ventures portfolio and for Capital One.

The manager plays a critical role in driving portfolio management, fund operations and governance, ensuring accountability, execution, and delivery of key objectives. S/he will have direct, tangible impact on building a high performance strategic investment portfolio and scaling underlying portfolio companies.

The Portfolio Operations Project Manager will lead various aspects of fund management and governance, portfolio analysis and reporting. In this capacity, s/he will work closely with the investment and operations team, and collaborate with other groups across the organization: risk management, accounting, finance, legal teams, etc.

This team member is professional, detailed oriented, analytical, and articulate. S/he possesses the ability to engage comfortably and build strong relationships with partners inside and outside Capital One.

The role:

As part of the COV team, you will be primarily responsible for:

• Portfolio Analysis and Reporting : Analyze and report portfolio and fund performance to stakeholders. Help manage and produce quarterly and annual portfolio reviews for the Investment Committee and monthly overview of the minority equity portfolio for finance and accounting leadership. Monitor and prepare exposure analysis for the group across the minority equity portfolio. Maintain dashboards and monitor portfolio company financials, strategic scoring, recordkeeping, and fund KPIs.
  
• Portfolio management and fund operations : Work with leaders across different Capital One Ventures' focus areas to project manage strategic traction of portfolio companies and drive strategic scoring of portfolio companies. Support program management of key strategic initiatives and relationships for our portfolio companies and Capital One partners. Project management areas would include onboarding and relationship development plans for new portfolio companies. Ensure efficient coordination, transparency, and delivery of commitments, escalating critical issues to the appropriate parties on a timely basis. Work closely with the Platforms team to project manage fund operations, including deal pipeline management, finance, accounting, recruiting, and corporate communications initiatives.
  
• Governance : Oversee all aspects of governance and risk management for Capital One Ventures. Ensure compliance with and program delivery of enterprise and regulatory requirements, including supporting ongoing, quarterly and annual audit and risk management initiatives.
  

Additional responsibilities include:

• Work with cross functional teams and influence others to work toward common goals, regardless of resources and time constraints
  
• Create transparency and foster relationships with adjacent teams
  
• Communicate and present across all levels at Capital One and portfolio companies
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  
• At least 7 Years of Project Management experience
  
• At least 1 Year of People Management experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters / MBA degree
  
• 8 years of Project Management experience
  
• 3 years of People Management experience
  
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in investment management or project management role
  
• Demonstrated analytical, presentation and communication skills
  
• Experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of strategic relationships
  
• Demonstrated ability to operate within a large organization at speed

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City

- $142,979 and $168,683 for Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
