Principal Associate, Insights Strategist - Business Cards & Payments

THE ROLE

The Capital One Business Cards & Payments team is a passionate and entrepreneurial team focused on launching breakthrough products and delivering refreshingly simple, empowering experiences for business owners. We are looking for a Principal Associate Insights Strategist to join our Business Insights team. As an insights strategist, you will assist with coordinating research design, conducting analysis and contributing to strategic reports. On the Business Insights team, you will have the opportunity to directly impact business strategy, provide consumer insights that influence product design, services, and experiences, and marketing strategies for business owners.

Through your work you will dive into the leading-edge of consumer and market research and answer crucial questions like:
  • Who are our customers, how can we best reach them with media (e.g. via television, social media), and how do they use our business products (e.g. do they carry a balance, how do we fit into their financial ecosystem, or how can we help improve cash flow)?
  • Is our business impacted by evolving market trends (i.e. fintech innovation, new products, new shopping behaviors etc.) ?
  • And do socio-demographic developments change the answers to our questions?

What You'll Do:

Strategy & Planning
  • Guiding the learning agenda process by identifying the problem statement to developing an approach for solving the problem and conducting research to presenting insights, opportunities and solutions
  • Translating insights into strategy and/or thought-starters to communicate vision and actionability of findings
  • Participating in translating complex ideas into understandable concepts that evolve and enhance what we are currently doing today
  • Influencing business strategies by championing the customer voice so enhancements to products, services, and marketing are grounded in sound methodologies


Collaboration & Connection
  • Advocating for the customer through human-centric methodologies to strategically define ideal products, experiences and services tailored to customer needs
  • Participating and supporting in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to engage and build alignment across different partners and teams
  • Connecting with our design community peers in service of learning, sharing, and teaching to make sure we are working as one unit
  • Working with partners and teams across various geographies
  • Looping in outside partners to connect the entire organization and promote cohesion


Execution & Delivery
  • Demonstrate interest and aptitude in various research methodologies ranging from qualitative to quantitative.
  • Bringing together various inputs to tell connect dots and elevate themes by distilling research from secondary resources, competitive intel, internal longitudinal studies, and more
  • Participating or leading synthesis and knowledge mapping sessions
  • Working with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities
  • Working with project teams to understand and apply research by framing problems, defining insights, and designing new methodologies/practices to serve customer needs
  • Supporting effective storytelling and presentation of visual concepts to various stakeholders



Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 4 of experience in a marketing research or consumer insights role to including planning, execution and analysis of qualitative and quantitative market research
  • At least 2 year of experience working in market research on the vendor or agency side



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Strategy, Insights
  • Experience with data analytic methodologies and research platforms like Qualtrics, Alida or Decipher research platforms
  • Experience in leading qualitative research or facilitating

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City: $114,766 - 135,398 for Principal Marketing Associate

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City

- $114,766 and $135,398 for Principal Associate, Marketing
