GEICO s Cybersecurity Engineering team is seeking a Principal Cloud Security Engineer to solve complex cloud security-related challenges. GEICO has a challenging hybrid enterprise environment that brings together on prem and cloud-based applications, cloud services, and data protection to secure the entire business ecosystem and provide a frictionless development experience. The Principal Engineer for Cloud Security will design, deploy, configure and implement internal and cloud-based solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES: Architect, design, configure and deploy cloud-based security solutions for GEICO according to application and customer requirements, industry best practices and latest security standards Responsible for recommending cloud security requirements, engineering, design and subsequent implementation, ensuring minimum disruption and impact to the business Follow approved life cycle methodologies, create documentation for design and testing Interact/coordinate with customers as required Provide technical oversight and direction to mid-level and junior Engineers and build their skills with Azure, AWS and cloud services in general Assist operations team as required, coordinate with the enterprise architecture team Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation Preparation and updating of service-related architecture and design documentation Generating service-related Proof of Concepts (PoC) Provide technical leadership and guidance to colleagues in designated area of expertise Provide project support, technical consultancy and implementation planning Promote and actively research the cloud platform and security services, identifying technologies and products consistent with global standards that can provide commercial and security benefit to the organization QUALIFICATIONS: 15+ years of combined industry experience in Systems, Network, Cloud or Security Engineering-related fields 10+ years of experience in the field of System Administration, Security Engineering for on prem or Cloud platforms and services 5+ years-experience designing enterprise security solutions in an Azure or AWS cloud platform environment. Familiarity with modern cloud first development technologies & methodologies such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD and containers.
