ECS is seeking a Sr Technical Architect / Data Center Transformation to work in our Rockville, MD office.Job Description:Serve as the senior technical architect leading a data center modernization and transformation program for a major US Government agency. In this role, you will be responsible to support development and implementation of technical strategies and solutions to support critical business and mission functions. Your multi-domain experience will be applied to analyze high level business and mission processes, technical requirements, and operational objectives and to propose and guide the implementation of technical solutions.Support technical direction of program operations and modernization activities.Provide strategic direction for the infrastructure function at the enterprise level.Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects.Interface with business unit executives and other IT functional area executives to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.Lead development of infrastructure strategy, architecture, service delivery standards, and modernization procedures for the enterprise.Analyze and predict trends and develop long range plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness of the enterprise's IT infrastructure.Participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices (eg, ITIL) as related to the needs of the business.Proactively research and recommend courses of action to prevent problems and to maintain high infrastructure service levels for the user community.Utilize metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery.Manage and maintain contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer's organization.Consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules and costs and contractual obligations.Assist in building and documenting architecture and roadmaps to transform the current state to an improved and effective end state regarding people, processes, and technology.Lead architectural reviews, system design, and migration planning efforts to support platforms and applications migrations to a hybrid Cloud environmentsRecommend opportunities for cost and performance optimization of cloud infrastructureReview and assess existing and proposed systems, applications, and infrastructure architectures for compliance against customer's technical standards and best practices.Identify opportunities for improvements in enterprise application reliability, maintainability, performance, and securityCollaborate, facilitate, and conduct infrastructure and network assessment, coordination, monitoring, traffic analysis and optimization of the technology solutions contained within data center and cloud hosted environmentsRequired Skills:U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.Requires Bachelor's degree plusITIL v3/v4 Foundations or comparable framework certificationRequires 15+ years technical experience organizing, directing, and managing all technical aspects involving multiple complex and inter-related project tasks that often require managing teams of contractor personnel at multiple locations.Experience in: cloud migrations, enterprise architecture, network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration.Demonstrated experience in planning, directing, and managing the development, implementation, and performance of cloud migration and IT managed service solutions.Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of customer and corporate management.Demonstrated experience with Enterprise modernization / transformation efforts.Demonstrated experience with managing performance metric contracts that must conform to KPIsECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
