Our multidisciplinary team combines excellence in research with the development of innovative products for the treatment of serious diseases.Finance & Accounting Business PartnerGaithersburg, MDYour TasksAs a member of the Miltenyi Biotec team, you will prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, develop financial models, and work on special projects. Additionally, you will work closely with the Cost Accounting and FP&A teams, and provide financial guidance on the organization's current financial status. As a result of your ability to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting, you will support the continued success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole.Among other responsibilities, you will:Oversee financial accounting, month-end & quarter-end, including preparation of financials.Develop and maintain strong relationships/partnerships with assigned client group to ensure close coordination with stakeholders.Conduct thorough research of historical financial data & analysis in order to improve future outcomes.Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with FP&A, Cost Accounting, A/P & A/R teams.Participate in target setting and budgeting, and take an active role in the budgeting and financial forecast process together with the FP&A team.Report on current performance management and provide insight on ways to increase it in the future.Share best practices across departments to increase knowledge share and inter-departmental performance.Proactively suggest and implement changes to streamline processes and improve effectiveness.Research, identify, and explain expense and operational variances to highlight areas of risk and opportunities to improve.Requirements:5-8 years of overall business experience, with a minimum of 5 years in accounting and financial planning and analysis roles; or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous rolesStrong computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint)SAP or other large ERP experienceSolid organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, and interpersonal skills are criticalEffective communication skills and the ability to work effectively across various departments.Experience in a life science or biotech environment desired.Please note that this position may require vaccination against COVID-19, unless individual is entitled to reasonable accommodation under applicable law.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
