Primary Purpose
The senior procurement manager is the leader responsible for developing and driving the procurement vision and process within Emmes. Responsibilities include leading a new procurement function within the organization and partnering with executives and corporate services leaders to deliver annual value improvements and company efficiencies. The role will mitigate risk, use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition of vendor services and products.

The senior procurement manager is the leader responsible for developing and driving the procurement vision and process within Emmes. Responsibilities include leading a new procurement function within the organization and partnering with executives and corporate services leaders to deliver annual value improvements and company efficiencies. The role will mitigate risk, use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition of vendor services and products.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and implementation of common procurement processes, standardized practices, use of tools and technologies that can be scaled company wide
- Work with our external procurement partner on spend analyses, target high cost areas, and develop RFP'
- Negotiate/renegotiate contracts with vendors seeking best value with high quality
- Work closely with finance team and purchasing team on Procure to Pay (P2P) process to ensure efficient end to end delivery model
- Coordinate business projects and programs with vendors (e.g. M&A integration of procurement function, make or buy analyses, vendor transition, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), monitoring execution and presenting results to senior leaders
- Point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier Management
- Analyze and report on procurement metrics for business reviews
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or other related subject required
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least five years of experience in a related procurement role)
- Preferably within a global healthcare, clinical research, biotechnology, life sciences or services environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously bringing them to timely completion with attention to detail and excellent customer service
- Comfortable working effectively at all levels of the organization and demonstrated ability to consistently work well with others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
