Network EngineerUS citizenship required per government contractSilver Spring, MD - hybrid schedule (1 day onsite)As the Network Engineer you will join a team of IT, CyberSecurity, and Software Engineering professionals providing the information technology systems, hardware and software required of by a fleet of aircraft, ships and unmanned vessels that enable oceanographic and atmospheric research. This is a hybrid position currently on maximum telework status which requires on average 1 day per work week on-site. Position may require travel (up to 25% per year).Duties and Responsibilities:Recommend technical and procedural approaches to secure marine and aviation on-board systemsEngineer, configure, deploy, and maintain network security hardware and software in accordance with Configuration Management policies and proceduresAssist in Troubleshooting and resolving Incidents related to network hardware and softwareEnsure Network documentation (SOPs, Diagrams, Configuration files, etc.) accurately reflect current state and to be stateBasic Qualifications:" US Citizenship" Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance" 8-10 years experience in Network Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance" Knowledge or experience supporting any or all of the following: firewalls (Cisco), load balancing, wireless networks, wireless access points, satellite network connections, LAN, WAN, TIC, Azure Cloud" CCNA or Equivalent CertificationPreferred Qualifications:" Experience in marine and/or aviation industries" Bachelors degree in IT or a related field from an accredited college or university" Training or Certification in one or more of the following areas: Active Directory (AD), BeyondTrust Remote Support, CASP+, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, Group Policy, IP, ITILv3, ITIL4, LAN, MCSA or equivalent, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Network+, SCADA Systems, SCCM, Shell Scripting, SONAR, Splunk, Virtual Desktop, VPN, VSAT, WAN, Wi-Fi Networks, Windows DNS, Windows Server.
