Position SummaryCore Banking Solutions Lead - BankingSuiteDeloitte's Product Transformation and BankingSuiteDeloitte recently launched the Converge hybrid market offering as part of a $750M investment in product development over the next 5 years, which will blend the agility of a startup and the reach of a leading professional services firm. Converge is launching a Banking Suite product line to compete in the exciting FinTech ecosystem, which will focus on delivering a world-class customer experience for consumer and small businesses of smaller banks and non-banks. The Banking Suite platform is a cloud-native stack at every layer and aims to help Banking Suite clients compete with large bank incumbents and FinTechs with the flexibility to deliver innovative marketing, product, and pricing strategies, while enjoying dramatically lower digital bank operating costs. The Banking Suite team is looking to build a FinTech startup team with a passion for innovation and the experience to launch a high-quality digital banking product.Work You'll Do* Design, build, and operate digital experiences, business processes, and features within a modern core banking and payments platform by leading a team to define capabilities, create user stories, and lead technology execution.* Prioritize strategic requests, contract and partner with external firms, execute changes in a high-quality fashion, and communicate progress to key stakeholders.* Provide technical and architectural guidance to a team of modern core banking engineers/developers* Design and implement a secure, reliable, and high-performance modern core banking platform* Solve the most complex build and integration problems that the core banking team encounters, both reactively and proactively, including solving production bugs and system reliability issues* Complete strategic assessments with recommendations, and define OKR's and KPI's, for the highest priority core banking capabilities, features, processes, and workflowsKey Responsibilities* Lead the definition and configuration of business rules, data definitions, and process standards that ensure consistent rollout of key business themes across the core banking platform* Ensure a well-structured business capability model is leveraged as the main artifact for building detailed user stories and functional designs as concrete inputs to development teams. Ensure ongoing traceability from strategic goals to capabilities to technical components to validated business results. Create high level designs including customer experience journey maps, high level architecture views, and UX mockups, with traceability to detailed execution deliverables including production UX artifacts, business process flows, and business rules.* Build and maintain a feature-oriented roadmap that is backed by ongoing release-oriented capacity and demand planning to ensure feasible outcomes within reasonable timelines. Must be able to plan the team and projects by continuously balancing resources or tasks based on shifting business demands.* Obsess daily over the customer experience through data-driven analysis, validated learning, and designing comparative experiments. Manage the ongoing interactions with lead users. Use the product as an end user to build empathy and self-identify improvements.* Develop and communicate quality and efficiency measurement standards. Continuously review and manage OKR's and KPI's to aid in continuous improvement. Ensure key stakeholders are continuously informed of the quality of the core banking platform* Ensure that core banking technical decisions are aligned with Banking Suite strategic goals* Lead the development, implementation and execution of multiple core banking projects ensuring scope and schedule are established for projects; act based on changing priorities* Build relationships with BankingSuite leaders and work collaboratively to define an approach for integrating new offerings that balances speed and scale* Contribute to the organization-level discovery, vetting and decision-making on critical architecture and technology, bringing your domain expertise into larger conversationsQualificationsRequired:* 5+ years of core banking platform design, development, and implementation experience leveraging multiple enterprise technologies with a specific focus in retail banking and multi-tenancy architectures. Experience with retail banking cores and payments systems such as Thought Machine, Temenos, FIS, Fiserv, Jack Henry & Associates, Finastra, etc. a plus* Hands on experience with state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure, practices and tools - enabling the highest level of operational resilience. Must be able to develop and implement a core banking platform that can scale to M customers and B transactions across 100's of clients as part of the Banking Suite platform* Hands-on design and implementation experience delivering customer-facing and enterprise-class monetary applications. Some of the following financial technologies: core banking and/or payment systems, record keeping systems, and personal financial management* Experience in the following enterprise technologies (or like representations): AWS Cloud Native, PaaS solutions, API platforms, IaC techniques, DNS and load balancers, networking components, RDBMS and no SQL servers, and security technologies such as SSL/TLS. Python a plus* Proficient with emerging DevOps methods and tools, such as agile/scrum, continuous integration, automated configuration management, test driven development, and data center/cloud automation* Proven experience working in a complex environment where relationship building is critical, yet at the same time being entrepreneurial and fast-paced* Waterfall and agile project management experience and the understanding to leverage both methods* Experience developing and optimizing engineering processes with a proven track record of measurable continuous improvements* BS in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred)Preferred:* Ability to cultivate skills and manage team performance, guiding individuals and the core banking engineering team* Comfortable with ambiguity and change while communicative of potential risks and threats* Ability to interface with executives, including assessing and communicating risk. Adept at explaining complex technical concepts and sharing your knowledge with diverse audiences* Experience facilitating partnerships between engineers, product managers, and designers to build innovative and user-friendly products* The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) - Enterprise Architect discipline with a focus on Enterprise IT Systems (App, Data, Technology) is a plusThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
