Westat is seeking an internal communications senior specialist to assist the internal communications manager develop, create, and coordinate a variety of enterprise-wide employee communications and events. This is a hands-on position that combines planning, writing, editing, and a creative approach.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop, write, and edit stories that inform and engage employees on a variety of topics
• Write and edit routine and non-routine announcements, as well as content for the company's intranet
• Project manage small scale projects
• Assist with the preparation of various materials to support new initiatives and organizational changes, including FAQs
• Ensure consistent framing of messages
• Help organize internal events/meetings
• Provide input/ideas on new and existing projects and initiatives
• Work in partnership with graphics and document production teams to ensure materials are polished, professional, and consistent with Westat's brand
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience including communications, writing, and editing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline
• Experience supporting employee engagement and organizational changes through effective communication is a plus
• Ability to multi-task, adjust to initiative/project changes, and meet tight deadlines
• Works independently with general supervision
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated communication skills
• Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients
• Organization skills, including time management ability
