Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer for our Subscriptions Engineering team. This team of engineers focus on acquiring and retaining digital subscribers across our platforms. As a front-end engineer, you will build features, services and tools for our subscribers and the subscriptions business. You will be part of a fast paced, collaborative team
that supports the full lifecycle of our subscribers and delivers high quality products. You will have an opportunity to work with colleagues from all parts of the company from Marketing to the Newsroom. This role reports to a Director of Engineering.

The Washington Post is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer for our Subscriptions Engineering team. This team of engineers focus on acquiring and retaining digital subscribers across our platforms. As a front-end engineer, you will build features, services and tools for our subscribers and the subscriptions business. You will be part of a fast paced, collaborative team
that supports the full lifecycle of our subscribers and delivers high quality products. You will have an opportunity to work with colleagues from all parts of the company from Marketing to the Newsroom. This role reports to a Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities:
- Build reusable, user facing front-end components that are shared across other applications for rapid development and scaling to support Digital Subscriptions experiences on washingtonpost.com.
- Extend functionality of internal tools used by Marketing and Newsroom stakeholders to build/deploy site experiences to achieve company subscription goals.
- Write high-quality code with best practices and design patterns in mind and engage inbcode review/quality assurance.
- Collaborate with designers to implement and extend our Design System acrossbsubscription components and their integration across washingtonpost.com.
- Consult with your partners in Product to form sprint goals and break work into atomic units.
- Work with colleagues from different teams and disciplines to create a scalable experimentation and personalization architecture.
- Participating in the on-call rotation. An on-call schedule will be determined a couple ofbmonths after you join, taking into account team size and other variables.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience with developing highly scalable, performant web applications
- Extensive experience with JavaScript and the React framework.
- Experience with TypeScript.
