The Lourie Center, Adventist HealthCare, is hiring full-time Head Start Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants. We are currently offering a $3,000 sign-on incentive to qualified candidates!

We're seeking experienced teachers and assistants who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As the Head Start Lead Teacher, you will:
•Attend and participate in all scheduled training's such as community of practices, engage in coaching cycles with assigned coach, reflective supervision and in collaboration with the director develop PDP for own professional development
•Implement the Tools of the Mind curriculum with the guidance from the Reggio Emilia philosophy to promote children's development and learning
•Use assessment data analyzed by teacher teams in Teaching Strategies GOLD to guide curriculum and individual/group plan decisions

Qualifications Include:
•BA Early Childhood Education or related field such as Psychology or Elementary Education
•90-hour course preschool requirement
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
•1+ years of experience in the field

As the Head Start Teacher Assistant, you will:
•Implement the Tools of the Mind curriculum with the guidance from the Reggio Emilia philosophy to promote children's development and learning
•Use assessment data analyzed by teacher teams in Teaching Strategies GOLD to guide curriculum and individual/group plan decisions
•Prioritize the health/safety and social/emotional well-being for children in the program and to promote a culture of excellence and family
•In collaboration with each child's parent and with parental consent complete the ASQ-3 and ASQ - SE to identify concerns regarding a child's developmental, behavioral, motor, language, social, cognitive, and emotional skills during a home visit

Qualifications include:
•High School Diploma
•1 year of experience
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification required
•90-hour education course preferred
•Floater Must obtain a preschool CDA within 6 months of hire

Work Schedule:

We have 4 locations and are looking to hire candidates that are willing to work at any of our locations (even after hired) as our needs change throughout the year. Our locations include Hyattsville/Landover, Adelphi and Riverdale.

This is a 12 month position and the hours are 8am-4:30pm
