Counselor

A+ Counseling Center is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Counselor position.  Our mission is to promote community health and wellness by providing accessible and quality behavioral health services to individuals seeking recovery.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions in our intensive outpatient treatment center.  Facilitate evidenced based curriculum, and maintain client case and progress notes (BIRP/SOAP). Perform case management and participate in weekly clinical team meetings. Performs other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field plus two (2) years of substance abuse, behavioral, or emotional disorder counseling experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years of demonstrated professional experience, which involves counseling and assisting client populations with substance abuse, emotional, behavioral, or related disorders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate must possess one of the following State of Maryland licenses/certifications: 1) LCPC: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor OR  2) LCADC: Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate must: 1. Pass a thorough background investigation; 2. Pass a drug screen and submit to subsequent random drug screens. 3. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. AND 4. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations including Booster (1, 2 & 3); and Influenza Vaccination.
