Job DescriptionOur client, a leading Insurance Carrier, is expanding their Middle Markets Commercial Lines business and seeking to add a Commercial Lines | Middle Market Underwriting Specialist. This person would be responsible for identifying and developing Commercial Lines business opportunities in the Eastern region. Duties also include analyzing underwriting information, conducting proper risk selection, and premium determination. This person would need to reside in the Eastern Time Zone but would have the ability to work fully remote!Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.Review loss experience, insurance to value, loss control reports, in additional to other relevant risk factors.Make independent decisions within underwriting letter of authority and maintains proper file documentation; assist in developing annual business goals for assigned agents/producers.Responsible for analyzing results and maintaining accountability of agency partners within the department.Determine appropriate premium levels and coverages for commercial package and umbrella policies based on filed rates and individual risk characteristics.Effectively display the ability to build and foster relationships by managing assigned territories, agents, and accounts.Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.Requirements3 - 7+ years of Commercial Lines Underwriting experience.Underwriting knowledge of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Property, and Umbrella.Strong communication, analytical skills, and business acumenExisting relationships with contractor agents and producers within the Northeast Region.Bachelor's Degree is required.Salary/Benefits$80,000 to $120,000 annual base salary + lucrative bonus plan + company pension planFully-funded employer pension planFlex schedule and ability to work remotelyExtremely competitive Medical, Dental, Vision and Life plansEmployer matching 401(k) planGenerous PTO planEmployee Stock Purchase Plan with employer matching
