Come experience the Crown difference.Crown was voted as "One of the DC region's Top Workplaces in 2021."Job DescriptionCrown is seeking a Websphere Linux Systems Administrator who will be primarily responsible for supporting a 65 person development team working on National Airspace Systems for the Federal Aviation Administration.ResponsibilitiesInstallation, configuration and management of the following in support of a 50 person development team that builds tools used by airmen for flight planning activities which include:-Websphere 8.5.5 and later-iplanet web and proxy server-Linux OS (Red Hat Linux , CentOS) virtual machines-Solaris 10/11 physical machinesSupport the deployment and management of java based web applications to non production environments including physical and virtual servers on both AWS and VMWare for the development teamSupport the installation and configuration of application clusters, connection pooling and proxy users in WebsphereProvide images and packages for setup of non production instances of database servers on both Oracle and PostgresReview configuration settings across the tech stack to optimize system performanceEnsure high availability of non production systems by closely monitoring system, process and application logsSetup monitoring tools and scripts to ensure any issues can be identified quickly before system availability is impactedScript routine maintenance, installation and configuration activities via Python in AnsibleIdentify, assess and perform proof of concept exercises for new tools and mechanisms to help with optimizing/ improving overall system operationsProvide knowledge transfer and training to tier 2 support by providing detailed documentationDocument detailed instructions for system installation and configuration changesQualificationsMust be able to obtain a Public TrustBachelors Degree in engineering, math, or science is required8+ years of experience performing the duties outlined aboveExcellent analytical and communication skillsUS Citizen or resident (for more than 3 years)Excellent verbal and written communications skills; works with others to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and effectively communicate changes.Additional InformationVisit: www.crownci.com for additional information on our company.Crown is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
