POSITION SUMMARY The IOP Therapist provides on-going assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family and group therapy. Develops and monitors treatment plans, monitors treatment progress, documents interactions and maintains clinical records and other reporting data for patients with substance abuse disorders. Coordinates with internal and external supportive services to deliver needed services to program participants. Collaborates with clinical supervisor and psychiatrist regarding treatment. This position may require evening and/or weekend hours. This position is located in our Bel Air IOP Clinic KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrated ability to plan and use effective therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques. Observe patients in a variety of situations; assess mental status of patients; assist patients in formulating treatment plans and goals; perform case management services and needed to assist patient to meet their goals as stated in their treatment plans Provide activities to achieve goals of treatment plans, including: individual, group, and family therapy; group facilitation; and lectures/presentations Conduct crisis intervention; intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with patients; assess risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources Refer patients to supportive services such as vocational, medical, social services, housing authority, etc. Advocate for participants in different forums including in the court system, with family, school system, etc. Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment plans Provide screening, intake and assessment of patients utilizing required instruments and assessments within appropriate time lines. Facilitate counseling groups and provide individual and family counseling Develop written treatment plans/updates and continuing care plans and make appropriate referrals; maintain electronic health records in accordance with standards Conduct periodic reviews with managed care companies for authorization of treatment Attend staff meetings/clinical supervision and other required meetings Complete written discharge summaries and correspondence within established time lines. In addition to role responsibilities, each staff member of Ashley, Inc. has the following responsibilities as a part of their employment: Models and reinforces Ashley's mission and core values Performs other duties on an as-needed basis Reinforces Ashley's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion Protects the privacy of our patient's protected health information by maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant Ashley related IT security regulations DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Master's degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university required; Maryland clinical licensure in appropriate discipline Minimum LMSW, LGPC or LGADC from the State of Maryland is required Preferred: LCADC, LCPC, LCSW, or LCSW-C Demonstrated ability to plan and use effective therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques. Solid working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use current diagnostic criteria Knowledge of basic group dynamics and techniques Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other health care professionals Ability to communicate and interact both personally and in writing with patients, staff, and community agencies Knowledge of substance abuse forms and treatment strategies Case management, including referral, linkage, monitoring, coordination and advocacy problem-solving skills. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK May need to work untraditional work hours such as weekends, evenings, observed holidays, and nights.
