Job Summary:
Westat is seeking an administrator for corporate Windows platforms that support web-based applications and SQL Server used by various projects. The successful candidate will have several years of experience working with technologies including Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server as well as cloud technologies. This position is based at our office in Rockville and is eligible for flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Job Responsibilities: 
•    Assist in the administration of Windows infrastructure including defining and configuring websites under IIS.
•    Installation, configuration, and maintenance of OS and other support software. 
•    Maintain secure server configurations and applying security patches. 
•    Implementation of server performance monitoring tools and procedures. 
•    Installation and maintenance of log monitoring services.
•    A key role will be to work with closely with project teams at Westat in gathering requirements, standing up and configuring the platform.

Basic Qualifications: 
•    A bachelor's degree, preferably in a computer science or information technology related field.
•    5 or more years of experience in developing and maintaining Windows and or SQL environments is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience in administration of SQL Server databases, including tuning, backups, and troubleshooting 
•    Experience with database modeling and development using SQL Server. 
•    Experience working with network load balancers.
•    Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, environments, and application development such as CI/CD and GitHub along with cloud database solutions such as Amazon RDS and Azure serverless SQL databases.
•    Familiarity with Containerization concepts and tools.

•    Strong communication skills and detail oriented. 
•    Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
