Duties

Plan, develop, and execute a comprehensive ODNI strategic communications plan for an assigned area of responsibility that effectively communicates the ODNI's mission, vision, and goals to a specific set of assigned stakeholders; plan should include, but not be limited to, goals and objectives, situational analysis, key messages, target audiences, and planned communications events, programs, and activities.

Write, record, edit, produce, and disseminate compelling content for and across a range of digital outlets, including ODNI's website and major social media channels while working with a team of content creators.

Lead ODNI's website editorial efforts by developing overall content strategy, updated branding and site-wide content audit, while leading ongoing website rollouts consisting of press releases, statements, and reports.

Review and ensure editorial standards of all content meets the private sector and ODNI brand standards, both in narrative and in style and usage.

Recommend, develop, and implement best practices for digitally-mediated communication while working with cross-organizational teams to plan joint strategies for digital initiatives, leading when appropriate.

Evaluate and monitor the impact of all ODNI's organic digital media communication efforts and provide structured recommendations based on metrics and data.

Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with staff in other communications organizations in the Intelligence Community (IC), and, as appropriate, members of the media, community leaders, policy groups, and/or concerned constituencies to provide information about ODNI mission, programs, and activities.

Applicants may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency. Applicants must have current TS/SCI clearances with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one. The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of digital communications experience, ideally with proven communications experience during high profile and routine events.

Excellent strategic planning, project management, web, design, writing, multimedia production, and computer skills.

Deep understanding of content strategy and analytics, with knowledge of a broad range of web technologies and web standards.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and multimedia production and editing.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct independent research, filter, and synthesize data, and produce clear, logical, and concise products.

Extensive communication skills, including the ability to tell a story, present persuasively, listen empathetically.

Demonstrated ability managing competing priorities under strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders in a high profile and demanding office.

Extensive knowledge of the ODNI, IC, Congress, and the overall national security apparatus.
