Expanding across Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland, we are devoted to the health of all who call our 18-county area home.A vital resource for healthcare, we are the regions largest employer, a dependable community partner, and are at the leading edge of clinical innovations.We are looking for passionate, innovative, and caring people who will each bring their unique skills and perspectives to our workplace.What You Will Do:The Paramedic is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused medical transportation up to the advanced life support level to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transports dispatch center and the Operations Manager.What You Will Bring:EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredCertification & LicensuresValid driver's license requiredDOT Medical Examiner's certificate RequiredBLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) - AHA approved required *EMT Paramedic for primary state and/or National Registry or both requiredEMT Paramedic for secondary state within 6 months of hire date requiredVA EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent must be obtained required or must be obtained within 60 daysMust satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid drivers license.Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiners Certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations.EMT Paramedic for primary state required by end of six month orientation period.ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent required. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent required within six months of employment. * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.QualificationsMust be 18 years of age.Basic level ability navigating in Microsoft Windows and ability to accurately gather and enter data into an electronic medical record in a timely manner.Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the companys insurance carrier.Must be able to accurately perform pharmacological calculations.What You Will Get:At Valley Health, we believe everyone is a caregiver, and our goal is to create an environment where our caregivers thrive physically, financially, and emotionally.
