TUITION ASSISTANCE INCENTIVE UP TO $30,000 AVAILABLE FOR THOSE THAT QUALIFY JOB SUMMARY:Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs specified routine and complex procedures and selected nursing care activities to assist in the direct and indirect care of an assigned group of patients.Assists Registered Nurse with assessing patient clinical condition and diagnostic information continuously to recognize implications of abnormal diagnostic results, to identify problems typically associated with a diagnosis or treatment, etc.Assists patients in performing activities of daily living care such as feeding, bathing, toileting, and mouth/skincare, etc.Performs individual patient care according to established Plan of Care and standards of practice; including treatments such as chest physiotherapy/postural drainage and suctioning; insertion and inspection of IV catheters; trach and wound/skin care, etc.Attends multi-disciplinary rounds and participates as appropriate. Completes Caring by CASE rounds throughout shift ensuring patient safety and satisfaction; in collaboration with other team members.Monitors emergency equipment for correct functioning and takes corrective action or notifies appropriate personnel of deficiencies.Responds to emergency codes such as Code Blue, Code Yellow, and Code Red; performs CPR.Administers medications in accordance with Patient Care Services policies and procedures.Performs IV insertion and phlebotomy; takes vital signs; may obtain urine, sputum, stool specimens for lab tests; performs pulmonary function tests, pulse oximetry.REQUIREMENTS:A nursing graduate is a graduate of:A Board-approved registered nursing or licensed practical nursing education program; orAn out-of-state nursing education program determined to be equivalent by the Board.A nursing graduate may practice as set forth in COMAR 10.27.01.03 B(5)(7) until the earlier of:90 days from graduation; orReceipt of the results from the initial NCLEX examination taken.A nursing graduate shall cease practice as a nursing graduate immediately if the nursing graduate fails the initial NCLEX examination.Maintains current American Heart Association BLS certification.Detail oriented with good communication and time management skills.Ability to learn and retain usage of ConnectCare system.UNIT DETAILS:The new Emergency Department at Grace Medical Center features 17,000 square feet of state-of-the-art design with technology and amenities for emergency care. Patients and visitors will immediately see a larger, brighter space with a comfortable waiting room. Twenty-nine spacious, well-lit private treatment rooms are appointed throughout the space, with the providers station positioned front and center. Here, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other clinicians will collaborate to provide a personalized plan of care for each patient. Negative pressure rooms are located in the department, for isolation of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The new Emergency Department also includes a behavioral health treatment pod for patients in psychiatric or behavioral health crisis.
