Veterinary TechnicianReston Animal Hospital is looking for a motivated, charismatic veterinary technician to work in our veterinary clinic that emphasizes health care from birth to end of life.Duties include, but not limited to:VenipuncturePreparing samples for lab specimensSafe and proper restraint of cats and dogsPerforming in-house lab work and preparing lab work to be sent outMulti-tasking skillsAssisting Doctors in appointmentsCaring for hospitalized patientsAccurately entering in chargesProperly checking in baths, grooms, boarders, and drop-offsClient educationMonitoring anesthesiaQualifications:Must have at least 6 consecutive months of technician experience at a veterinary practiceExcellent communication skills (written and oral); Must be proficient in reading, writing, math, phone skills, and computer skillsKnowledge of vaccine protocols, preventatives, and general animal careAbility to work and learn in a fast paced environmentRemaining calm in stressful situationsHave reliable transportationAbility to pass drug screening and criminal background checkKnowledge of Idexx, Antech, and AVIMark is a plus but not requiredFlexibility is required for shifts as evenings and weekends are includedPay and BenefitsPay based on experience and skill level.
