3D Printing Manager, Research and DevelopmentThe Research & Development Department's mission is set the new industry standard by finding new materials, methods, and technology to change the built environment and the way we work. We foster a collaborative mindset, believing that with our partners in design, real estate, and the trades - we can deliver a better way to build.The 3D Printing Manager will lead the product development for design and production of 3D printed commercial office furniture. In this role, he/she will help execute leadership's vision to drive innovation and excellence into construction by utilizing recycled materials, shifting labor offsite, and reducing schedule and cost. This team member will be responsible for 3D printing projects from concept through completion and must have skills in both hardware and software. We are looking for dynamic, innovative, and passionate team member to join us in our movement to change our industry.ResponsibilitiesKey player in developing 3D printing strategy including identifying long-term growth opportunities and determining interim product development paths to support long-term plan.Be able to prioritize business needs while weighing scope, budget, and timelineDevelop processes and procedures for 3D printing as a support service within HITT, including requests, reviewing of files, and validating printabilityIdentify use cases, define success metrics, and testing plansGather data, analysis, lessons learned for each project to provide meaningful insightsEngage leadership team for input, feedback, and continual testingOperate and support large-scale 3D printers and ensure safe and efficient operations of all systems.Interact with various 3D printing subsystems: pumps, hoses, electrical equipment, motors, controls, and software.Monitor and interpret all variables and functions of printer operations, troubleshooting and escalating as needed. Manage and maintain all required tools and equipment.Support local sourcing of materials and act as technical interface to external suppliersSupport auxiliary functions on the print site such as staging, installing and demolition of test prints.Communicate with stakeholders including company leadership, clients, partners, subcontractors, and internal team membersAct as brand ambassador for the firm, representing R&D efforts with the goal of becoming a high-visibility leader within the industry.Experienced in agile development, design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), possess strong project management skills, passionate about innovation, skilled writer and communicator, strong critical thinking skills and a relationship builder.Highly organized, self-motivated, collaborative (willing/able to engage multiple business stakeholders across various leadership teams), and able to drive results and juggle many tasks at once.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Training: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a college or university and a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in design, engineering, or 3D modelingRelevant experience with heavy machinery (3D printers) and corresponding softwareAbility to prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment. The ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities is required.Strong interpersonal skills with comfort level in front of internal and external stakeholders.Proven writing skills to capture project information and communicate to stakeholdersHITT Contracting, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
