GRADE 13 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown MD POSITION DUTIES The Food Service Administrator is responsible for administrative oversight and support for food & Nutritional Services Department. This position provides administrative support to the Director of Food & Nutritional Services in assuring the Hospital's compliance with all federal, state, local, and other regulatory agency requirements and standards with regard to food preparation. This shall include, but not limited to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, The office of Healthcare Quality, The Joint Commission, and The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. NOTICE: Federal COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Certain Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Employees Per the emergency regulation issued by the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (86 FR 61555), and as permitted to go into effect by the US Supreme Court on January 13, 2022, all staff at the Maryland Department of Health's CMS certified health care facilities are required to receive either a first or single COVID-19 dose and provide proof of their vaccination status by January 29, 2022.If selected for this position, candidates will be required to provide proof of vaccination status or have an approved religious or medical exemption prior to appointment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Five years of experience, one year of experience managing large-scale food service operations in an institutional, commercial, industrial or similar organization and an additional four years of experience supervising in a large-scale food service operation. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience managing large-scale food service operations in an institutional, commercial, industrial or similar organization for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute US Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Food Services Officers classifications or Food Services Manager and Services Officer specialty codes in the food service management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The desired candidate should possess experience in the following: developing menus and coordinating food orders food purchasing and working within budgets performing routine inspections and maintaining compliance standards SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in, and therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.
