This is a position working as a Therapist at the Winchester Rehabilitation Center. Winchester Rehabilitation Center is a 30 bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility treating adult patients with a variety of diagnoses related to neurology, trauma, orthopedics, post-surgical, cardiac, pulmonary, oncology and/or other medical illnesses. Our therapists work closely with an interdisciplinary team to establish and implement a comprehensive plan of care with the goal of patients returning to a community based setting upon discharge. The Therapist II may be employed in any one of the rehab settings, is an active member of the interdisciplinary team, is responsive to physician referrals, determines the skilled and medically necessary needs of the patient and provides discipline specific interventions to improve the safety and functional independence of its clients through the rehab process. Feedback from the Therapist II is critical to determine and recommend the patient's progression through the continuum of care. The Therapist II is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs and seeking out learning opportunities from more advanced clinicians and specific continuing education. The Therapist II is mindful of the fiduciary responsibilities and delivers rehabilitation services in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to licensure, documentation and billing guidelines, and begins to recognize need for program development and process improvement initiatives. In addition, the employee maintains a working knowledge and is supportive of departmental, hospital and organizational initiatives and updates, and stays current with communication, such as emails, in a professional and timely manner.What You Will Bring:EducationPost Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Therapy. Has completed CI credentialing course, home study adult learning course, or equivalent (up to one year to complete after hire)ExperienceMinimum two years of clinical experience (4,160 hours).Certification & LicensuresSLP licensure - Virginia/West Virginia licensure or transitional license at time of hire requiredBLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) - AHA approved required ** New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.QualificationsBasic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment.
