_*Before and After School Teacher*_Kids Adventures is hiring a Teacher Qualified person for our before and after program located at Takoma Park Elementary School and Piney Branch Elementary School. Must be energetic, reliable, accountable, and be committed to providing fun, enriching activities and a safe environment for school-age children. Applicants should be patient and a positive role model to our kids in care. Staff members develop monthly clubs and activities based on children's interests.Our before and after care programs are open 7am to 9am and 3:30pm to 6:30pm on normal school days. We are open during MCPS release days and during winter and spring break._*Responsibilities and Duties*_* Assist with set-up/clean-up of the room, implementing or setting up/cleaning up activities.* Provide supervision for kids. This includes being involved while still being sure kids are safe and supervised.* Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities, which may include crafts, nature, songs, games, etc.* Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with childcare and all program areas. You will also be responsible for knowing and understanding all emergency procedures associated with the program.* Teachers and aides will report to the site Director_*Qualifications and Skills*_* At least 1-2 years experience working with children* 90-hour School age Certificate* ADA (American's with Disability Act)* 9-Hour communication certificate/college equivalent* Basic Health & Safety Certificate* Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.* Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.* Strong organizational and communication skills.*Our hiring process includes: ** Mandatory Criminal Background Check conducted at the State and Federal level.
