*Position Title: *Human Resources (HR) Director*Functional Area/Department: *Home Office*Location: *Home-Office/remote*Work Authorization: *US*FLSA Status: *Exempt*Reports To: *Chief Executive OfficerDT Institute, a nonprofit international development organization based in Washington DC (INSTITUTE.ORG ) seeks a Washington DC/* based Human Resources Director experienced in the non profit sector, with a minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resource management experience. The Director of Human Resources will lead and advise on the overall strategy, administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources functions at DT Institute. This includes implementation of an effective strategy to attract and retain top talent and to build DT Institute into an increasingly diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization.The Director of Human Resources will work with the senior management team to develop and implement all policies and processes related to hiring, salaries, benefits, performance management, and professional development at DT Institute. They will ensure that employment practices are held to the highest standard of equity and transparency, while maintaining the organizational culture and legal compliance.Specific Duties and responsibilities of the DTI Human Resources Director will include:* Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and offboarding* Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations *Ensure the staff personnel files are compliant with all local, state and federal regulations * Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities* Create a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys and keep the strategy up to date* Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution* Ensure the organization's HR is compliant with local, state and federal regulations *Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team * Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently* Maintain company organization charts and employee directory* Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with organizational initiatives *Maintain HR systems and processes** Conduct performance and salary reviews* Provide support and guidance to HR staff* Analyze trends in compensation and benefits* Design and implement employee retention strategies* Provide guidance and support to field team staff as needed* Other assignments as required.*Our Ideal Candidate: ** Has a minimum of five (5) years of HR experience* Demonstrates understanding while communicating clearly and decisively.* Possesses excellent organizational and prioritization skills, coupled with strong and creative problem-solving skills.* Pays meticulous attention to detail.* Has demonstrated the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with empathy and discretion.* Maintains a collaborative mindset with the ability to establish trust and build relationships at all levels of the organization.* Demonstrates familiarity with international employment policies and issues. *Has at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience at a non-profit organization. * Demonstrates professional competency and/or personal experience thinking and working effectively across boundaries.Specific Skills:* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications* Familiarity with benefit management systems (preferred)* Professional License or Certification in Human Resources* Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Management or similar degree *Strong written and communications skills** Knowledge of contemporary Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices Compensation/Benefits:* Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 - Salary will be based on several factors including education, work experience, location, certifications etc.* Competitive benefits package including health/dental insurance, 401K retirement w/ match benefit and paid sick, holiday and vacation leave.* Incentive and recognition program/*Hybrid Work to eligible/qualified candidates available*To Apply: *Submit CV and Cover letter to: hr.mgr at dt-institute.org_DT Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
