We offer challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects where our customers have come to value us, because they know, We Deliver! *ABOUT THIS POSITION* KBR requires a Lead Solution Architect for Data Modernization, located in the Dayton, OH or Crystal City, VA areas (preferred) but can be remotely supported as well to support F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) Maintenance Systems (MxS) Program Management Office (PMO) planning and execution activities. The F-35 MxS PMO is responsible to ensure information systems are fully integrated across the F-35 weapons system enterprise to meet the demands of a growing fleet of aircraft fielded around the world. This highly complex mission area requires specialized skills and expertise as it undertakes the modernization of the F-35 Logistics Information System of Systems, Autonmic Logistics Information System (ALIS). The candidate should be experienced and successful at administering and executing the technical and management processes for establishing and maintaining consistency of a product s performance, function, and physical attributes relating to its requirements, design, and operational information throughout the product life cycle. The candidate should enjoy and have experience performing in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The candidate must work well with a widely dispersed team and be assertive in capturing key inputs and data to incorporate into various products, processes, and programs on a daily basis. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening). Proficiency with developing presentations (PowerPoint) and written documents for executive-level review and consumption is necessary. Familiarity with DoD 5000.02 acquisition policies and processes, a plus, but not required. Likewise, familiarity with DoD and international military protocols, customs, and courtesies, is a plus, but not required. Duties include but are not limited to (provide leadership, expertise, knowledge in support of the government on the following tasks): * Develop and manage Data Modernization Strategy and Roadmaps * Characterization of current ALIS Data Architecture; Schema; File Services; Data integration; Data Messages; Data interfaces * Independent advice on Data Services Solution approaches, sourcing * Data Domain Design * Data Requirements and Re-architecture * Data As A Service design * Reference Architecture aligned Solution Architectures to accomplish required capabilities and requirements * Collaborate and support integration with JPO OIC areas * Collaborate and support integration across MxS Engineering, Software, Infrastructure, Hardware, Sustainment workstreams * Collaborate with System Integrators, Legacy LM, PW teams; 3rd party data solution providers, in the development of requirements, solution architectures and design * Interface with US Service, Partners, FMS Customers and Enterprise Business teams in the development of requirements, communication of design * Troubleshoot and fix production application issues that leverage container-based solutions * Use of Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools to develop and publish products for senior executive review, coordination, and approval * Drafting correspondence on behalf of government for wide distribution to key mission stakeholders at tactical and strategic levels Travel: Occasional travel required (15-20%) to Arlington, VA, Fort Worth, TX, Dayton, OH, and other F-35 support and operating locations may be required. *BASIC QUALIFICATIONS*: * Must be a US Citizen * DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret * Masters Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience * 10+ years progressively complex software design engineering experience * Practical experience with data engineering techniques/solutions * Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills The Lead Solution Architect for Data Modernization must demonstrate comprehensive experience with and knowledge of: * Encryption protocols and data scrubbing methods * Data streaming tools and methods for real-time/near-time data availability * Collaborating with System Engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize analytic solutions * Communication skills with customers, end users, and analysts in order to provide recommended contractual language to specific test-related sections of solicitations * Working with geographically dispersed teams to produce documents and presentations for senior executive and stakeholder consumption * Knowledgeable in the application of distribution statements, CUI, destruction notices, and FAR/DFARS data rights clauses * Using Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools to develop and publish products for senior executive review, coordination, and approval * Prepping senior leader(s) for meetings and engagements, ensuring all relevant information is conveyed and understood to support discussions and decision-making The Candidate will have to show practical and demonstrated skills of the following with emphasis on communication and stakeholder engagement: * Multi-Tasking * Problem solving * Plan development and execution * Identifying and developing project requirements * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical peers and customers * Candidate must possess strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience employing Kafka, Confluent, Python, SFTP, JSON, Cloud One, Amazon Web Services, Red Hat OpenShift * Experience with 5th Generation aircraft sustainment concepts * Knowledge of and practical experience with F-35 ALIS or related DoD/USAF MIS * Previous experience with or supporting AFLCMC and/or the F-35 JPO INCLUDES: Competitive health, wellness & lifestyle benefits Inclusive, flexible, and supportive company culture Ongoing training and development opportunities LEARN MORE ABOUT KBR: [ KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
