Supporting the Director of Banquets. The Assistant Banquet Manager will provide assistance and direction in leading the banquet team while personally assisting in executing events based on requirements and luxury standards.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assisting in managing departmental inventories including par levels and equipment maintenanceMaintaining attendance logs and supporting materials for payrollEnsures employee awareness of the event phase portion, maintaining timely service according to BEO and resume specifications, maintaining communication with meeting planners on site and addressing concerns, questions and service needs.Assists with ordering suppliesAssists in scheduling staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profitsprovides event directions when servicing events, ensuring understanding of expectations and perimeters and the flow of service is metAttends BEO, resume, pre and post con and other hotel meetings as requiredAddress team member concerns in an effective and positive manner, ensuring a positive work environment. Participates in new hire and ongoing service training and development of banquet teamSets a positive example for guest and team member relations*The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: ** At least two years of experience in event management, food and beverage* At least two years supervisory experience* Experience in luxury hotels or hospitality environments is needed* Knowledge of meeting and event set up, audio visual is strongly preferred.* Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include am or pm shifts, weekends.
