Principal Associate, Data Management
As a Principal Risk Associate in Capital One's Enterprise Services Risk (ESR) team you will be responsible for working with Enterprise Services and other teams in both the first and second lines of defense to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One, applying your risk analytical skills to help Enterprise Services continue to drive well-managed risk activities. This specific role supports the Enterprise Services Risk's horizontal program governance for Enterprise Data Management (EDM) for Enterprise Services Risk operating divisions (Brand, Enterprise Supplier Management, External Affairs, Enterprise Safety and Security, Growth Ventures, Workplace Solutions, Capital One Software, Cloud and Productivity Engineering, Enterprise Data Machine Learning, and Tech Chief of Staff and Associate Experience Technology).
As part of the Enterprise Service Risk's data management team, you will apply your analytical, risk management, data management, and process management skills to support the adoption and compliance of the Data Management Strategy. The successful candidate will become part of a team who serve as liaisons within the Enterprise Services Risk horizontal program's data community to advise and support on topics related to data management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the organization is not only compliant but also well managed with its data.
The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an interest in data management. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others. All of the above are critical priorities and this role will provide the necessary expertise to enable the organization to effectively govern critical data in our data ecosystem and have the opportunity to influence data management practices on modernized, cloud-based data platforms.

- $127,092 and $149,940 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Perform ES data management and governance activities to mitigate data management risk
- Support a risk service model that meets Enterprise Data Management policy requirements and that challenges current policy to further enhance data management control suite
- Serve as liaison and subject matter expert for privacy and CCPA/CPRA regulations
- Develop a strong relationship and collaborate with ES's Risk Advisors, and Cyber and EP2 EDM Program Managers to educate and ensure consistency with data management risk management across Enterprise Services holistically
- Identify process improvements that will improve EDM risk management practices
- Partner with second line function EDM to develop and further refine our ES EDM service to further enhance the data management roadmap and policies
- Documents and supports data management related controls, risks, and issues to further mature the data management control suite
- Support innovation through process improvements and automation
- Use strategic mindset to foster continued growth of the Data Management program
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of data management, risk management, compliance, legal, regulatory, or operations experience
- At least 2 years of experience supporting internal business area
- At least 2 years of experience in Technology, Cybersecurity, or Risk Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of data management and governance experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem solving and influencing skills
