With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. We strive to provide success paths toward mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training and employment with a living wage, affordable housing, and ultimately living independently and confidently.*We are seeking a full-time *Family Services Case Manager - Youth Services Coordinator* within our Family Services department, located at our Benning Road location in NE Washington, DC.*Position Description: * Provides case management and support services for adults and children living in Family Housing. Develops and coordinates programming for adults on life skills and personal and professional development.*Required: * High School Diploma/GED; 5-8 years experience in social services; case management experience and youth program development experience. Experience providing services to low income families and children is strongly preferred.*Required License/Certification: * CPR/First-Aid, CPR for Infants, Driver's License, and access to vehicle.*Schedule: * (2) evenings, 11:30am - 8:00pm; (3) mornings, 9:00am - 5:30pm and 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours per week)*Covid-19 Considerations: *SOME has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. We require all employees to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination and boosters except where a reasonable medical or religious accommodation can be granted upon review by human resources.*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: ** Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for motivational enhancement interviewing, trauma-informed care, change management, and career counseling and guidance.* Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and individualized services. This includes understanding residents' needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating of satisfaction* Knowledge of family/group/individual behavior and dynamics and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds* Ability to write effective SMART goal plans and document progress* Ability to educate and teach residents how to access and utilize community resources* Ability to engage and develop strong professional relationships* Ability to use sound judgment to respond in crisis situations*Expected Contributions: ** *Case Management*: Perform intakes and annual assessments for new residents; schedule times to meet with families and individuals regularly. Maintenance of progress notes and program charts. Facilitate care and services with third-party vendors.* *Program Activity Development*: Develop and coordinate activities in areas of improvement for residents, including life skills, personal development, and professional development. Identify resources and establish partnerships to assist in activities.
