*Certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist*Maryland Medical Group, Inc is a multi-specialty medical practice, our number one priority is the patient. We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant/ Receptionist with excellent organizational and administrative skills (bilingual preferred). The candidate will be working in a fast-paced medical office.*Certified Medical Assistant /Receptionist Job Responsibilities and Qualifications/Skills include: ** Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the phone* Professional presentation and communication skills is a must* Vitals, EKG, PFT, PPDs, drawing blood (if needed), administer injections, ear lavage* Prior authorizations* Medical records management* Knowledge of EMR system (Greenway Prime Suite is a plus)* Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.* Verifying patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and updating medications list and recording medical history in EMR system; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit.* Supporting patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; preparing patients for x-rays; removing sutures (if needed); changing dressings.* Educating patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answering questions.* Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.* Keeping medical supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipts.* Scanning patient information into EMR, including insurance cards, picture ids and medical records* Collect co-pays and outstanding balances on patient accounts* Additional duties include backing up the medical receptionist on days when she/he is out and providing additional support when needed* Obtain patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance)* Process referrals and provide complete and accurate referral information to our patients.* Completing end of the day tasks and emails to Billing Department* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations* Assist with administrative tasks, if necessary, such as scheduling and rescheduling appointments* Answering incoming calls*Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: ** Work Authorization: United States (Required)* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent* 1-2 years of Certified Medical Assistant skills/Certification* knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis* knowledge of computers and medical software applications* knowledge of general medical office administrative and clerical proceduresBenefits:* Dental insurance* Disability insurance* Free parking* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceMedical specialties:* Infectious Disease* Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine* Podiatry* Primary CareSchedule:* Monday to Friday* No weekendsExperience:* EMR systems: 1 year (Required)* Vital signs: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:* Certified Medical Assistant (Required)Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:* Dental insurance* Free parking* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid sick time* Paid time off* Vision insuranceMedical specialties:* Infectious Disease* Internal Medicine* Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine* Podiatry* Primary CareSchedule:* Monday to Friday* No weekendsWork setting:* In-person* Private practiceAbility to commute/relocate:* Rockville, MD 20850: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:* EMR systems: 1 year (Required)* Vital signs: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:* BLS Certification (Preferred)* Certified Medical Assistant (Required)Work Location: One location
