A Ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Camp Maria, an eco-friendly retreat center, offers scenic, peaceful surroundings with meeting rooms, dining options, and lodging accommodations for diversified retreats, workshops, and event groups. CM has served the area for over 85 years. by splendid beauty and peacefulness, Camp Maria Retreat Center offers a wonderful opportunity to become involved with the ministry of Camp Maria by collaborating and working with the retreat center director and a small service team to provide the best in hospitality and service with day-to-day operations and all aspects of retreat center planning.Job SummaryThe Operations Manager supports the daily operations of CMRC by being hands-on. OM is responsible for managing all aspects of retreats and events with groups and individuals and ensuring guests have a positive experience. Reports to the Director and manages the service staff to execute daily tasks and keep the facility and grounds operational.Attributes include keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills. Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities. The ability to lift and move items such as tables, chairs, media equipment, and supplies to and from and between buildings, and to be comfortable walking and knowing the buildings/facilities throughout the property. The Operations Manager must be mission focused and have knowledge of Laudato Si and how Care for theEarth focus impacts the work and future growth of Camp Maria. The position also requires effective communication and collaboration and organizational skills, practical leadership and a solid understanding of finances and resources. The OM is expected to work with the Camp Maria Director to carry out Camp MariaA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s strategic plan and the recommendations to improve ecological sustainability within the daily operations of Camp Maria.Hosting groupsThe Operations Manager takes the lead in hosting groups and events at Camp Maria Retreat Center. The Operations Manager would generally be on property with groups for scheduled retreats. The Operations Manager resides in the Bay House to provide overnight coverage and handles emergencies. Specific duties include:* Meet with the leadership of potential and new groups to Camp Maria. Give retreat center tours.* Oversee the reservations process, collaborating with the director and administrative assistant to streamline the process to encourage different ways of utilizing the Camp Maria campus and facilities to meet the diverse needs of our groups and programs and new possibilities.* Verify the completeness of the retreat paperwork for information regarding the group. Ensure that all buildings to be used are ready before the retreats.* Ensure the maintenance staff has all communal areas on the grounds ready.* Welcome the groups to Camp Maria.* In the event of severe weather, monitor and keep the group leader updated regarding the severe weather andCamp MariaA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s emergency sheltering plan. (Reference CMRC Crisis Response Plan)* Provide a visible presence to the group, making sure things are operating smoothly with their program, answering questions, and responding to requests. Check-in with the leader regularly. Walk the grounds; get involved if safety issues or property abuse issues are noted.* Once the group leaves, carry out a plan to check/secure all buildings.Services, Grounds and Physical Plant ManagementThe Operations Manager oversees Food Service, Maintenance and Housekeeping operations. Tasks include:* Hire, orient, supervise, schedule, and evaluate personnel.* Develop, evaluate and update CMRC orientation programs.* Carryout regular key employee evaluations.* Implement recommendations to improve ecological sustainability daily operations at Camp Maria RetreatCenter.* Supervise the in-house service operation.* Supervise maintenance repairs of buildings, facilities and grounds, including the Camp Maria Waterfront, pier area and pool.* Oversee CMRC yearly maintenance schedule including capital projects, emergency repairs, retreat preparedness.* Oversee the scheduling of routine inspections and routine maintenance by contractors.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have:* Prior management/hospitality experience* College degree preferred* Verbal and written communication skills* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously* Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills* Proven computer skills (Word, Excel, Calendar)* Weekend availabilityPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential function of this job* Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the day* Reaches, bends, stoops, and climbs stairs frequently.* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.* Frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures indoors and outdoors*Job Type: Salaried **Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year**Benefits: **Health Insurance including dental and vision**10 days vacation **10 days sick leave**A house is provided on Camp Maria property.*Camp Maria Retreat Center is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.
