JOB DESCRIPTION: Engineer / Project Engineer / Intern (Paid Position) We are currently seeking an entry level engineer (0 to 2 years) to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring on-going construction and paving projects, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and project timelines to management. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and skills at maintaining project-related documentation, field measurements, and basic estimating skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a young professional eager to learn about the construction industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Read basic project plans and analyze other applicable documents to accurately determine project requirements and estimate and measure material quantities. Liaison between field execution teams and office to assure accurate reporting of daily activities. Collaborate with contractors and engineers during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy. Assist with the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates; assist with the preparation of change orders. Maintain records of project documentation including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation. QUALIFICATIONS: Have completed two years or more of studies toward a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or the equivalent preferred; background in mathematics highly desired. Computer skills; proficient at Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel); exposure to blueprint takeoff software (such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD) will be a plus. - Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills; time management skills. Ability to travel as required. KEY COMPETENCIES: Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication abilities with excellent interpersonal skills. Good people skills with an emphasis on customer service. Critical thinker, focused on finding solutions. Willingness to learn new software programs/platforms. Must be able to function and contribute to a team setting. JOB TYPE: Intern position (part-time to full time), onsite, salary commensurate with experience.
