Role Description Pirate Ventures is looking to enlist a new crew member for the position of Comptroller. This role will be a hybrid full-time position with some remote hours as well as time in unit in the DMV area. It is a perfect role for someone who is highly organized and enjoys a varying scope of work each day. This position will support the Executive Team, Hospitality Management, and offsite Accounting Team. Some travel around the DC/VA/Baltimore area may be required. Responsibilities Track and manage invoices, allowing us to disperse the loot accordingly Track and manage receivables for multiple units Process chargeback disputes Navigate the seas of government websites to assist with taxes and licensing payments Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct suppliers' ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger Enter data, maintain records and financial statements Assist with payroll Assist with other tasks as needed Job Requirements Commitment to and alignment with the company's core values Be a relentless perfectionist with a positive attitude who has a high level of attention to mastering the minutia and competitive spirit The crew member in this role must be tech-savvy, with a willingness to learn new systems Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as a Comptroller, Bookkeeper or Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator or similar role Proficient in Quickbooks Online (not desktop) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products Knowledge of and experience with SharePoint, Ledger docs, Gusto payroll systems, or similar Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects Be Everyone an Entrepreneur and find new revenue streams and cost-savings measures Hospitality industry experience is a plus Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required The perfect crew member for this role will work closely with the executive team to help maintain our ship's course.
