Summary Posted: Oct 17, 2022 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200435674 The Machine Learning Platform and Technologies (MLPT) team in AI/ML is seeking a senior technical program manager to help simplify and accelerate the adoption of machine learning in Apple products and ecosystems, used by both Apples internal and external developers. We support ML engineers and scientists through technologies that combine the latest in ML innovation and deep integration with Apple silicon and infrastructure, unlocking the creation of customer experiences that surprise and delight! Were looking for a strong Engineering Program Manager with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex software platforms, tools, and processes that deliver new end-to-end experiences on-device. You will partner with teams across Apple and deliver some of the most high-reaching capabilities for implementing machine-learned features on Apple hardware (including opening up the boundaries on privacy-first machine learning). Key Qualifications 5+ years in a role leading cross-functional teams in product/project/program development Consistent track record of delivering large-scale engineering products or platforms involving machine learning, data processing, and data analytics tools at Internet scale, including experience with ML training (eg train/test, evaluation, measurement), data processing pipelines, large-scale and high-throughput backend services, and/or user-facing applications that use those services and deliver measurable business or product value. Ability to engage with business customers, translate needs into technical roadmaps, and deliver and optimally communicate and partner with executive collaborators. Passionate about delivering the best user experience to internal users by actively surveying user needs and translating requirements into a feature roadmap Ability to apply data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations, and drive actions Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; proven creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (real-time) triage, prioritize, and lead multi-functional teams Effective and clear communication and presentation skills, written and verbal Description Own and drive adoption of the roadmap of Apples On-Device ML products, platforms & processes needed to enable Apples designers, engineers, product managers, & scientists to use Data to understand their products and to improve them. Partner with product teams among Apples larger software ecosystem teams to ensure there is a clear understanding of platform success (and the metrics to measure them). Collaborate with engineering, product, and executive leadership across Apple to drive execution of multiple strategic priorities - including implementation of performance management systems, software quality, and bringing research projects to production. Keep teams passionate about the right priorities to meet aggressive achievements while clearly briefing project progress to leads and executive team members Education & Experience BS/MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent Additional Requirements Preferred Qualifications * Prior Program Management or engineering experience in Machine Learning training or inference technologies. * Proficient use of OKRs to drive product outcomes. * Prior experience building technical communities across organizational boundaries.
