Duties

Serves as a Logistics Management Officer at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ facility. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of the Logistics Directorate. The Logistics Directorate supports the Agency's stores through Central Distribution Centers (CDCs) and Central Meat Processing Plant operations as well as supplies, services, and equipment life cycle management and accountability.

Position responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for OCONUS subsistence order processing and Second Destination Transportation budget, container booking, and bill paying.
  • Serves as the distribution liaison for all CONUS commissaries.
  • Plans, coordinates, manages, directs, conducts and oversees the Agency's worldwide logistics operations and management of special studies or projects.
  • Directs all program resources in a manner consistent with the Agency's mission, applicable laws, Department of Defense (DOD) regulations, principles, and standards.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-14 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
  • Provides internal and external program and policy issues affecting the overall organization.
  • Restructures immediate and long-range goals, objectives, and schedules to meet substantial changes in legislation, program authority, and/or funding.
  • Expert on supply management, property accountability, equipment management, distribution, and transportation management.
  • Manages, directs, and oversees worldwide logistics operations.

  • This position requires access to DeCA's Business Systems and is designated as IT Level II. Duties involved are especially critical to the Agency's mission with a broad scope of responsibility, demanding the highest degree of public trust. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
